Thankscovid

As we face month 138 of Covid, yes, I know its only been 12 months, but it feels like more…what truly matters are the people that share this time on Earth with us. I am thankful for all of you. Especially the ones that stuck around but even those who didn’t. I am thankful for the support when my going got tough and helping me celebrate my victories, for letting me know it’s ok to fall down, and especially for kicking my ass to get back up. Thankful for those who challenge me to not only serve others, but to also serve myself first. Those who constantly remind me of the beauty in this world, who remind me love truly exists, and who despite their own troubles remain compassionate and caring towards others. Today we face not only a global epidemic but a scourge of renewed bigotry and hatred against our fellow humans. Humanity must learn to teach harmony and be tolerant of those who live and think differently than ourselves. Be grateful for those in your life because some have left it too soon. Celebrate our differences and what each of us brings to the holiday table.

As I reflect on my work and my colleagues across the nation, while facing uncertainty and risking our own health caring for others (yes, Covid is real). I’d also like to thank those teaching our youth in a new environment and parents who now find themselves in dual roles and those working after our plates and bellies are full during the start of this holiday season. Particularly those working retail, our servers and the baristas who serve those delectable Peppermint Mochas. Seriously, I could not function without caffeine right now. And while many of us are grateful to have work, most of us don’t choose to work holidays. So if you don’t and are lucky enough to spend time with friends and family, please give a little more of yourself to those that do (I’m partial to leftovers BTW).

I wish you all peace, health and every happiness.
